How does Chemtracker work?

ChemTracker implements a system of users, chemical owners and groups. All chemicals and materials are owned by a chemical owner. All chemical owners are users; however, not all users are chemical owners. This distinction allows users of different categories to access only the information necessary to perform their duties. Environmental Health & Safety personnel may require full access to all inventory, all reporting capabilities, and user rights administration. Lab users may just need "read only" access to a specific chemical owner's inventory to determine where particular materials are stored. A restocking clerk may only need the ability to see inventory flagged for purchasing. Different categories of users can be grouped to provide common privileges and authorizations.
